- The delivering team's game clock shall start when the delivery of the first stone of the end reaches the tee line at the throwing end.
- The delivering team's clock continues running until all stones have come to rest, all dead stones have been taken past the back line, and the delivering team has relinquished control of the house to their opposition. If the delivering team is viewing stones to determine which is shot they have not relinquished control of the house and their clock should be running.
- If a skip chooses to arrange stones in the corner when they have control of the house, their clock should be running.
- When a stone is delivered into the boards at the near hog line, that team's clock will continue to run until the rock is taken past the back line at the end being played.
- At the conclusion of each end, both clocks stop for a maximum of 30 seconds to allow rocks to be cleared to the corners of the sheet. If the next end starts before the full 30 seconds has expired, the balance of the 30 seconds is discarded and the time clock should start when the stone reaches the near tee line. [1]
- When a measurement is called, both time clocks are stopped until the measurement has been determined and the official leaves the ice surface. An official's time out for measurements or for any reason as determined by the head official may be called at any time. These time outs do not have time limitation.
- When a team requests a time out both clocks are stopped. The time out is stopwatch timed by the Supervising official and the Head Official will notify the timer when to restart the clocks.
- If an extra end is required, a 3 minute timeout is permitted, if requested by either team. This occurs only after the 10th end and is not repeated if an additional extra end is required.
